Sacred Beachhead

Mixed Media Diptych

48”x30” (x2)

When taking an enemy by shore, the first position on land from which to conquer one’s foe is the beachhead.

I am trying to conquer my mind. I fight this battle at the beach during meditation. I am fighting the battle to release myself from the limits of human perception.

The tools of perception (sight, sound, taste, touch, smell) are far too small and their usefulness ends with this three-dimensional expression. The brain is an effective tool for survival in this material plane, but it is a poor mechanism for understanding the Beyond. Only by sitting alone without distraction, listening to the waves crash in repetition one upon the other, can I begin to unplug and feel the magnet pulling me towards the truer center of my being.
