My Blue in Green

Updated: Nov 12, 2017

This is the story of a man's suicide.

This is the story of a man's suicide… well, his “attempted” suicide, because the fact remains: he does not jump. But this is what it feels like to stand at the edge.

“Do you have any idea what that takes, to stand on the edge? To make your own decision about existence?"

The man lives in Nairn, a Scottish town on the sea, a former fishing port. Though I have never been to Scotland, I know that it is very green there and it is very cold.

The man has lost his wife to the green controversy of jealousy. His heart has grown as cold as the sky, in the deepest blue of his depression. He cannot fight his own demons anymore. He stands at the edge and his emotions swirl like a great torrent, a storm, a cataclysm which threatens to swallow him up.

But he decides not to do it. This is the moment before his decision.
